[ Sajith Bhaskaran, who luckily got to attend the Tribute Concert to MK Arjunan Master despite his busy work schedule was kind enough to send across a short note and a set of photographs of the event and his disappointment at the overall quality of the program‘s musical content . Thank you so much, Sajith 🙂 ]
I happened to attend the M K Arjunan tributeshow organised at Kanakakkunnu. The programme was organised by the Trivandrum Music Fraternity ( TMF ). Due to the fact that it was a Saturday, a huge crowd was waiting to enjoy the melodies created by MK.

P Jayachandran started the song session with Ninmaniyarayile (CID Nazir) followed by Hrudayamuruki Nee ( Karutha Pournami).

Pournamichandrika 2012 | P Jayachandran singing Nin Maniyarayiley
The first song was a disappointment but Jayachandran compensated it with his second song.
Here is Ninmaniyarayile from CID Nazir ( 1979 )
Then came P Susheela and her first song was Mallisaayaka (Sooryavamsam). I rate P Susheela as the best female vocal in Malayalam film songs. But her Mallisaayaka disappointed me. She was out of sync with the orchestra and the song was further spoiled by the apaswarangal.
Dwaarake Dwarake from Hello Darling.
When Susheela started her second song – Dwaarake Dwarake Dwaapara Yugathile, I left the place.

Really surprised to see the post without delay. Thanks
Sajith
Dear Sajith,
Thanks again. The aspect of singing live is an art in itself, and I guess age has also caught up with the maestroes. That CID Nazire montage brought a smile to my face. Surely, they couldn’t find anything better than a VCD cover for the movie ? :)..cm
