ഒരേ സിനിമ രണ്ട് ഭാഷകളില്‍ രണ്ട് രീതിയില്‍ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.
മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്തമായ “ചിത്രം” എന്ന ചിത്രവും, ആര്യനും ഒക്കെ തമിഴില്‍ ജീവന്‍ വച്ചപ്പോള്‍, രണ്ടിലും നായകന്‍ സത്യരാജ് ആയിരുന്നു. ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ മലയാളം റീമേക്കില്‍ നായകന്‍ ആയിട്ടുള്ളതും സത്യരാജ് ആണ്. ചിത്രത്തില്‍ മോഹന്‍ലാലിന്‍റെ കഥാപാത്രത്തെ ജയിലിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നു, ഇനി തിരിച്ചു വരില്ല എന്ന് പ്രേക്ഷകരെ വ്യക്തമായി അറിയിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ തമിഴില്‍ ആവട്ടെ (എങ്കിരുന്തോ വന്താല്‍) സത്യരാജിനെ രക്ഷപെടുത്താന്‍ സംവിധായകന്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു. ആര്യന്റെ തമിഴ് പതിപ്പിലും ഇത് തന്നെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
ഇനി രണ്ട് ഭാഷകള്‍ വിടാം, മലയാളത്തില്‍ തന്നെ ഒരു സിനിമ രണ്ട് രീതിയില്‍ അവസാനിക്കുന്നത്‌ ഓര്‍മയില്‍ വരുന്നില്ലേ? അങ്ങനെ ഉള്ള നാല് ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ നോക്കാം.
ഹരികൃഷ്ണന്‍സ്.
മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍, മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്നിവര്‍ ആദ്യാവസാനം നിറഞ്ഞു നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഈ ചിത്രം ഫാസിലിന്റെ പണംവാരി ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണ്. ഇതിന്റെ നിര്‍മാതാവ് മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ തന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു. രണ്ട് പേര്‍ക്കും കൂടി ഒറ്റനായിക എന്ന വലിയ റിസ്ക്‌ ആണ് ഫാസില്‍ എടുത്തത്‌. അത് കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ രണ്ട് ക്ലൈമാക്സില്‍ കുറഞ്ഞു ഒന്നും പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചില്ല നമ്മള്‍. കേരളത്തിന്റെ തെക്ക് മീരയെ (ജൂഹി ചൌള) ഹരി (മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍) വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചപ്പോള്‍, വടക്ക് കൃഷ്ണന്‍ (മമ്മൂട്ടി) ആയിരുന്നു പ്രതിശ്രുതവരന്‍. ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ വിതരണക്കാരന് കണ്ണുമടച്ചു പെട്ടി എടുത്തു കൊടുക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു കാണില്ല.
സിനിമയില്‍ നിന്നും..
മൂന്നാംമുറ.
മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ നായകന്‍ ആയി എസ്.എന്‍. സ്വാമിയുടെ സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റില്‍ കെ.മധു സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ഈ ചിത്രം ഇറങ്ങിയത്‌ 1988 ഇല്‍ ആണ്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സിനിമകളുടെ ചുവടു പിടിച്ചു മിഷന്‍ രീതിയില്‍ ഇറങ്ങിയ ഈ ചിത്രം ഒരു പുതുമയുള്ള അനുഭവം ആയിരുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ വന്‍ വിജയത്തിന്റെ ചുവടു പിടിച്ചു ദൌത്യം എന്ന പേരില്‍ അനില്‍ എന്ന സംവിധായകന്‍ മോഹന്‍ലാലിനെ തന്നെ വച്ചു ഒരു ചിത്രം എടുത്തിരുന്നു . കുറെ തീവ്രവാദികളുടെ കയ്യില്‍ അകപെട്ട കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രിയേം കൂട്ടരേം അലി ഇമ്രാന്‍ (മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍) എന്ന പോലീസുകാരന്‍ അല്ലാത്ത വ്യക്തി commando ഓപറേഷന്‍ നടത്തി രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതാണ് കഥ. തമിഴിലെ വില്ലനും സംവിധായകനും ഗുണ്ടയും ഒക്കെ ആയ പൊന്നമ്പലത്തിന്റെ മലയാളം പ്രവേശനം ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് ഓര്‍മ.ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ എല്ലാവരെയും രക്ഷപെടുത്തി നായകന്‍ നടന്നു പോകുന്നത് ആയിരുന്നു ആദ്യ കാലത്തെ ക്ലൈമാക്സ്‌. എന്നാല്‍ അത് പോര എന്ന അഭിപ്രായം വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ഒടുവില്‍ എന്നും അലി ഇമ്രാനെ കളിയാക്കുന്ന പോലീസുകാരന്റെ (ശ്രീനാഥ്) മുന്നിലൂടെ വിജയശ്രീലാളിതന്‍ ആയി അലി നടന്നു നീങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ ശ്രീനാഥും ഒടുവില്‍ കൈ കൊട്ടുന്നു. ഈ അധിക ഭാഗം കൊണ്ടു ആ ചിത്രം കൂടുതല്‍ ഓടിയോ എന്നറിയില്ല.
സിനിമയില്‍ നിന്നും.
വിഷ്ണു.
മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ തല്ലിപൊളി ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ലിസ്റ്റ് എടുത്താല്‍ ആദ്യ പത്തില്‍ സ്ഥാനം കിട്ടിയ ഈ ചിത്രം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തത് ഇന്നത്തെ സിനിമ നടന്‍ ആയ ശ്രീകുമാര്‍ ആണ്. (അച്ചുവിന്റെ അമ്മയിലെ തിരുവന്തോരം പോലീസുകാരന്‍ ).നേരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ കഥ പോലെ ഇതിലെ നായകനെ , ഗുരു(അജയ് രത്നം) എന്ന ഗുണ്ടയെ കൊന്ന കുറ്റത്തിന് തൂക്കി കൊല്ലാന്‍ വിധിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ ഒരു വില്ലനെ കൊന്ന കുറ്റത്തിന് മമ്മൂട്ടിയെ പോലെ ഒരു നായകനെ തൂക്കി കൊന്നാല്‍ ജനം സഹിക്കുമോ ? പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ കൈവിടും എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ അണിയറക്കാര്‍ ഒരു കോടതി സീന്‍ കൂടി ഷൂട്ട്‌ ചെയ്തു ചേര്‍ത്തു. വിഷ്ണുവിനെ കോടതി വെറുതെ വിടുന്ന സീന്‍ ! പക്ഷെ അതും ആ ചിത്രത്തെ രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ ഉതകുന്ന ഒന്നായിരുന്നില്ല.
സിനിമയില്‍ നിന്നും ഒരു ഗാനരംഗം ഇവിടെ കാണാം.
ലോലിപോപ്പ്.
ഷാഫി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ഈ ചിത്രം ചോക്ക്ലേറ്റ് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ വന്‍ വിജയം കണ്ടു തട്ടികൂട്ടിയതാണ്. പ്രാഞ്ചി (ജയസൂര്യ) ജഗതി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വഴിപോക്കനോടു കഥ പറയുന്നത് തുടക്കം . ഏറ്റവും ഒടുവില്‍ ജഗതി മനസിലാക്കുന്നു, താന്‍ സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നത് മരിച്ചു പോയ ഒരാളോട് ആണ് എന്ന്. പച്ചയായി പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ പ്രേതം. വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുന്‍പ് ശക്തി എന്ന ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഏകദേശം ഇത് പോലെ ഒരു രംഗം ഉണ്ട്. കഥ എഴുതാന്‍ വരുന്ന ജഗതിയുടെ കഥാപാത്രത്തോട് മരിച്ചു പോയ ജയന്‍, പ്രതാപ്‌ചന്ദ്രന്റെ രൂപത്തില്‍ വന്നു കഥ പറയുന്നു. ഒടുവില്‍ ജഗതി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു അത് ജയന്റെ പ്രേതം ആണെന്ന്. അതിന്റെ ഓര്‍മ എന്തായാലും ഈ ചിത്രം കാണുന്ന തലമുറയ്ക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകാന്‍ വഴിയില്ല. പക്ഷെ ചോക്ക്ലേറ്റിന്റെ മാധുര്യം ലോലി പോപ്പിന് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു, അത് കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ സിനിമ റിലീസ് ആയി കഴിഞ്ഞു കുറച്ചു കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ പ്രാഞ്ചി പ്രേതം ആയിരുന്നു എന്ന സീന്‍ അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായി !
സിനിമയില്‍ നിന്നും.
ഇതില്‍ മൂന്നാംമുറ, വിഷ്ണു എന്ന ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ തീയറ്ററില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ ആ ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് നടക്കുന്നു എന്നത് രസകരമായ വസ്തുത ആണ്. ഇനിയും രണ്ട് പരിണാമഗുപ്തി ഉള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ വരുമോ എന്ന് കണ്ടറിയാം. കോടികളുടെ കണക്കുകള്‍ മറിയുമ്പോള്‍ വിജയിക്കാന്‍ പലതും പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം.
OLD MALAYALAM CINEMA 
Harikrishnan’s actually had a thrid ending…with Shahrukh Khan coming to claim the girl (Juhi). but this version never reached the theatres. A google search using keywords Shahrukh and Harikrishnans could lead you to several photos of the abandoned climax

and one more movie to add to the list above. THIRAMALA tghe Fifties movie had two endings- one with the hero and heroine dying at the end and the second with both escaping from death. the movie featured Thomas Burleigh Kurishingal as the hero and Sathyan Master as the villain

I used to brag to my wife about how I was like a walking encylopedia of Malayalam cinema..remembering small details, year of release and small things related to our cinema. Moonam Mura was released in 1989 in New theater,TVM. As usual I was there first day first show..The crowd was so huge that..my friend lost his watch trying to get tickets and fighting with black marekteers. Those days Rs. 4 could get you a first class ticket. Thats what we got.
I havent seen Vishnu to date. Here it says the movie flopped. But P. Sreekumar also the producer, in an interview to some magazine said that Mammoty gave him dates and with the profit from that film he built his house.

I doubt that 😀 I have been witness to some very violent behavior post watching of that movie by my die-hard Mammootty fan boys buddies. But, of course, he should know better. After all, he shelled out the dough. New Theater holds some very fond memories of my school years in Trivandrum. New Theater was where you mostly headed to catch Hollywood releases those days, Sree Kumar, Sree Vishakh was for the desi Block busters, and Kalpana was for the lil old ones :-P..regards..cinematters
Right..the twin Srees,,and New Theaters..also famous for their cold cold air conditioners..and English films. Kalpana was next change after main city. These days they demolished it.and now it houses bIG BAZAR.

Some OT comments
Another Mohanlal movie in which Sathyaraj acted was the remake of Gandhinagar 2nd Street.
There is a very funny incident that Sathyan Anthikad mentions about Gandhinagar. IV Sasi, one of the producer’s of the movie was absolutely against the name Gandhi as He didnt like Gandhi. All including Seema tried to talk to him but he was adamant. Then Sathyan says that Lal took him out for a walk and in 10 minutes they came back and Sasi was alright with the name. Till date no one knows how Lal managed this with others failed for many days
Chithram was also made into Hindi as “Pyar Hua Chori Chori” starring ……. Mithun Chakravarthy. Predictably he too comes out of Jail in the end. Others were Gauthami(Ranjini), Shafi Inamdar(Poornam Viswanathan), Anupam Kher(Nedumudi) and Shakthi Kapoor(Sreenivasan).
There goes the Quiz Master again :D..
