V. Dakshinamoorthy conferred the Unneerikkutty Award

V Dakshinamoorthy has been chosen for the 2010 Unneerikkutty Award for his contributions to Malayalam Cinema. The Award would be conferred at a special function on December 23, at Kozhikkode. The Award has been instituted by the Ramashram MA Unneerikkutty Trust.

91 years old and a living legend, his journey in playback music started with ‘Nalla Thanka,’ way back in 1950.

I guess his best compositions were with Sreekumaran Thampi, a collaboration that also saw them working on the highest number of films together.
